The Executive Secretary of Ghana's Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), Dr. Shafic Suleman, joined other Chief Executive Officers of Energy Sector regulatory institutions from various African countries, for the African Electricity Regulatory Peer Review and Learning Network (PRLN) induction dissemination workshop. The workshop was held at the Graduate School of Business in University of Cape Town, South Africa.
The Peer Review and Learning Network (PRLN) is a capacity-building initiative to enhance leadership and management capability among African electricity regulators leading to increased credibility, and transparency, which is geared towards enhancing the overall investments and development outcomes through improved performances of the continent’s electricity industry.
The PRLN programme provides an opportunity for State Owned Utilities operating in the power sector and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) to share insights about key sector developments, successes and challenges that need the positive experiences of other countries.
The Peer Review workshop is an annual programme organized by the Power Futures Lab (PFL), in partnership with the European Global Energy Transformation Programme. The programme focuses on regulatory governance, striving for continuous enhancement of transparency and robust regulatory decision-making
