PUBLIC UTILITIES REGULATORY INFORMATION SYSTEM (PURIS)
ABOUT
The Public Utilities Regulatory Information System (PURIS) is a tool developed by the Commission to make accessible to the public, information on the operation and performance of the public utilities. In accordance with section 3. (d) of the PURC Act, 1997 (Act 538), the PURC is mandated to monitor standards of performance for the provision of services. To carry out this mandate, PURC has set regulatory benchmarks which are used to evaluate the performance of the utilities.
The PURIS will publish the utilities’ performance against the key regulatory benchmarks on quarterly bases. This is aimed at ensuring accessibility to regulatory information on the public utilities and enhancing transparency in the regulatory processes.
The Commission presents the quarterly performance of the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo), Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), Enclave Power Company (EPC) and Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) against the benchmarks for System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI), System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI), Customer Average Interruption Duration Index (CAIDI) and System Losses.
Reasonable care has been taken to ensure that the information presented is accurate at the time of publication, nevertheless, any errors, omissions or inaccuracies therein can be communicated with relevant supporting documents to the Commission.
