The PURC on May 27, 2022 officially inaugurated its Eastern Regional Office building complex in Koforidua.
In a welcome address by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Dr. Ishmael Ackah, he reiterated the commitment of the commission to balancing the interests of consumers and utility service providers in the discharge of the Commission's mandate as an independent multi-sectoral Regulator.
He also mentioned that a parcel of land has been provided by the Western North traditional council for the construction of an office of the Commission in the region.
The Guest of Honour for the inaugural ceremony, Hon. Akosua Frema Osei- Opare the Chief of Staff of the Republic of Ghana commended the Commission for adopting broader consultative processes in the lead up to the final determination of the 2022-2027 multi-year tariff review.
She also took the opportunity to unveil a logo to launch the 25th anniversary of the Commission.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by the Eastern Regional Chief Imam, the Head of Koforidua Catholic Dioceses, Eastern Regional Minister, Members of Parliament for New Juaben North and New Juaben South Constituencies, present and past board members of the Commission and Heads of decentralised institutions within the Koforidua metropolis.
