Madam Mankeri Barichisu is an accomplished educationist, administrator, and community development advocate with over 24 years of experience in the Ghana Education Service. She holds a Bachelor of Education in Social Studies from the University of Education, Winneba, and a Diploma in Chieftaincy Studies in Leadership and Management from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
She currently serves as a Deputy Director at the Ghana Education Service, having steadily risen through the ranks from Superintendent to Principal and Assistant Director I & II. She has demonstrated a strong commitment to education and leadership, earning numerous awards, including being recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential Personalities from Northern Ghana and the First Runner-up in the Ghana Teacher Prize (Female Category).
Beyond education, Madam Barichisu has been actively involved in traditional leadership, serving as the Kunshiwurche and Bridgewurche of the Buipe Traditional Area and Vice President of the Savannah Region Queen Mothers Association. She has also played key roles in politics as a Member of the NDC Council of Elders in the Savannah Region, Regional Women’s Working Committee Member. Her passion for women’s empowerment is evident in her leadership of 155 women’s groups since 2016.
A strong advocate for peace and governance, she has been engaged in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) training and has served on multiple committees, including the District Education Oversight Committee (DEOC) and the Peace Council Election Committee for the Northern Zone.
Her dedication to education and community development has attracted significant recognition for both herself and the institutions she serves. She has successfully led projects that have resulted in infrastructure development, school awards, and enhanced ICT education for young girls in the Savannah Region.
With her extensive background in administration, leadership, and community service, Madam Mankeri Barichisu continues to be a transformative force in education, traditional leadership, and political advocacy in Ghana.
