The PURC, in accordance with Act 538 section 3(a) and (b), has commenced stakeholder engagements with Ministries, Departments and Agencies and public utilities.
In a welcome address by the Executive Secretary of PURC, Dr. Ishmael Ackah indicated that, this year’s major Tariff review will be characterised by a number of new features which will include; passing on cost that will be prudent and efficient, protecting the interest of customers and also been mindful of the viability of the utilities.
He indicated that the processes leading to this year’s major tariff review would be participatory, transparent and Inclusive.
The Commission is determined to engage with civil society, the presidency, media, ministries of finance, energy, parliament, and sanitation.
The Utilities have so far made presentations on their Tariff proposals to stakeholders.
